2013 CMA Award Winners
George Strait won top honors at the 47th Country Music Association Awards, receiving the award for Entertainer of the Year. Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton got his and hers trophies for Female Vocalist of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year. Taylor Swift and Kacey Musgraves led the pack of of hopefuls with six nominations.

Florida Georgia Line gained exposure by opening concerts for such country stars as Blake Shelton, Jake Owen, and Brantley Gilbert. The group gained further notoriety with the release of their second EP, It'z Just What We Do, in May 2012. It featured the summer song "Cruise," which promptly began climbing the country and radio charts. It was certified gold by the end of the year.

Among the performances at the 2013 European Music Awards on Sunday were impressive versions of "Unconditionally" by Katy Perry and the songs "Berzerk" and "Rap God" by Eminem. However, it was Miley Cyrus, winner of Video Of the Year for "Wrecking Ball," who stole the show. This time it wasn't her actual performance or a revealing outfit. Upon accepting her award, Miley Cyrus thanked, "all my fans for making this happen," then she reached into her purse and pulled out a joint lighting it up on stage.
