Even though we will soon miss the charcoal grills, the triple-scoop ice cream sundaes, and the crisp summer wines; the changing leaves and the cooling temperature will prime our appetites for something heartier. Today we will preview the fall foods, including favorite stews, soups, pumpkin and sweet potato recipes that you will crave in September.

Know Your Harvest
Whether you like them fried, baked, or stuffed with oats and brown sugar, the smell of ripe apples evokes the fall season. While this fruit keeps fresh mostly from September through November, many varieties are available at your local supermarket throughout the year.
