From Amanda Rock, your About Parenting Editor
Even though the kids in my house are not back to school yet (seriously, will this summer NEVER end?!?!), our dinner table talks (led by my preschooler) have turned to a very scary topic--Halloween! Sure, Halloween is a little less than two months away, but for many kids, it is an epic holiday that requires a lot of advance planning.

Great Kids' Halloween Costumes
In early August we received our first Halloween costume catalog. Maybe we got another two or three after for the remainder of the month. Yesterday there were five in our mailbox. Five. It was a good day for my preschooler. He poured through the pages, each turn bringing something else new and exciting. If your little one is having trouble making a costume decision, try looking at some of these ideas from Katherine.

Why Some Tweens Seem to Hate Halloween
While my little guy was full steam ahead about a day that won't happen until two months from now (although to be fair, I feel like we have some Halloween-related event every weekend in October), my elder boy was not as enthusiastic. I was surprised because Halloween has always been his favorite holiday. Rebecca explains why.
