About

From Hilary Pollack, your About Food Editor

Is it just us, or did 2013 practically whiz by at the speed of light? It seems like mere minutes ago when we were breathing a sigh of relief that the world didn't end with the Mayan calendar (and then dealing with the subsequent stress of trying to pick the perfect post-2012 New Year's Eve outfit). There have been ups and downs, highs and lows, but we hope that as our loyal subscribers, you ate well this year. Excellent entrées, delectable desserts, and amazing appetizers really do keep us looking forward to the future. And during this year's countdown, you're guaranteed to be chowing down in style with this New Year's Eve party menu! Want more from About.com Food? The Perfect Party Platter
Do entrées even exist on New Year's Eve? We're pretty sure all of our NYE meals have been 100-percent appetizer. (They really do appetize, you know.) Finger foods, snacks, and hors d'oeuvres--no matter what you may call them, they're all delish and delightfully bite-sized.

Sweet Finale
Well, all good things must come to an end (or be eaten at the end of a long night with "Auld Lang Syne" crooning in the background). A sweet treat will probably be your final bite of 2013, so it's best to make it count. Try these happy endings before dealing with those pesky resolutions. (And archive these hangover foods for good measure.)
