If you eat a small bag of popcorn at the movies, how many servings is that? Well, a small bag is a portion, which is a serving, right? Actually no. That single small small bag might contain two, three, or even four servings. We commonly confuse servings and portions thinking that one equates the other. A careful reading of nutrition labels will tell you that, say, the portion of cereal you just served yourself might actually contain two servings and therefore twice the calories you thought you were consuming.
