Grammy Award Nominations 2014
The 56th annual Grammy Awards will be presented January 26, 2014 in Los Angeles, California. The nominees are voted on and winners selected by members of the Recording Academy. The Grammy Awards give out over 70 different trophies. These are the nominees in the General, Pop, and Rock categories.
| 2014 Blues Grammy Nominees
A few years ago blues music was demoted from a whopping two annual nominations ("traditional" and "contemporary" albums) to a single "Best Blues Album" award hidden in between folk, bluegrass, and Americana in the catch-all "American Roots" category.
| 2014 Folk and Americana Grammy Nominees
The Grammy committees almost never get it right when it comes to the folk and Americana nominees. I'm not sure whether that's because folk and Americana are such odd, evolving areas of music that are difficult for mainstream ears to truly understand and appreciate, or if it's because folk and Americana artists so infrequently become known beyond certain circles, it can be difficult to truly appreciate the bulk of what's out there.
| 2014 Christian/Gospel Grammy Nominations
On December 6, 2013, the nominees for the 2014 GRAMMY Awards (56th annual) were announced during the CBS' The Grammy Nominations Concert Live! The biggest names of the night in Christian/Gospel music were Mandisa and Tye Tribbett, who each went home with three nods.
