From Hilary Pollack, your About Food Editor

Passover begins this Monday, and if you're one of the millions of people who celebrate this holiday around the world, it's time to start planning your Seder feast. In addition to traditional dishes, such as hard-boiled eggs and charoset, there are tons of other tasty foods that often make their way onto Seder tables. Although there are a number of traditional dietary restrictions during this extended holiday, there are also innumerable ways to chow down happily. Read on for just a few of our favorites, and get your Passover shopping list going.

Shopping Ahead
Whether your family is fully kosher or more casual celebrators, it's important to be mindful when selecting the ingredients for your Seder meal. Fortunately, we have a handy Passover shopping guide to make things a breeze, as well as myriad menus to help you customize your dinner table.

Matzo Mania
Matzo (also spelled matzoh) is a traditional Jewish unleavened bread with a cracker-like consistency. It's one of the most commonly consumed foods during Passover, and can even be crushed or made into flour and incorporated into a variety of other dishes. We love a hot bowl of Matzo Ball Soup (this one is suitable for vegetarians), but we also can't deny its appeal when covered in chocolate for an after-dinner treat.

Perfect Passover Dishes
From beets to roast chicken to noodle kugel, every family seems to have their own favorite Passover treat. But one thing is for sure: our About.com Experts have hundreds of recipes that will make your Passover meals truly marvelous.
