From Colleen Graham, your Guide to Cocktails

First of all, allow me to apologize to my international readers because this edition is very American. Rest assured that tomorrow I will have a more universal newsletter for everyone.

That said, for those who are celebrating the Fourth of July over the weekend, I have a few patriotic drinks to share. The first three drinks are filled with rum, the favorite spirit of Colonial America and include one very old and two very new recipes, all of which are fantastic choices for the holiday. If you like to don the red, white, and blue in every aspect of your party, there are plenty of drinks to serve that purpose as well.

Enjoy and have a happy and safe Fourth of July!

Revolutionary RumIf you would like to take the first steps in advanced (or molecular) mixology, this is a great drink to get you started. This mix itself is quite simple: rum, blood orange puree, and citrus simple syrup. However, it is the lime-mint foam used to top the drink that requires a bit of skill and I've found the pros who have excellent tips for pulling it off. Get the recipe...
