From Tim Hyland, your About Spectator Sports Editor
Yes, we're in the midst of March Madness. In fact, as I write these words, I am watching Mercer (Mercer!) finish off a stunning upset of the Duke Blue Devils.

This tournament, as always, is nothing short of an absolute joy to watch.

But you know what else is an absolute joy to watch? Baseball, my friends.

Glorious, glorious baseball.

We'll take a look at the baseball that's about to be played in American League this season right here, in this week's About.com Spectator Sports Newsletter.

2014 American League East preview
Baseball's best division produced four teams that won at least 85 games in 2013, including the World Series champion Boston Red Sox.

2014 American League Central preview
Can the Tigers hold off the Indians, who got within a game of Detroit on the final day of the 2013 regular season?

2014 American League West preview
Can the A's three-peat? Will the Angels stop underachieving? Can the Rangers get back to the postseason?

Rappers, Insurrections and Free Agent Running Backs
Now the NFL in a lawsuit wants $16.6 million from M.I.A., a rapper from Sri Lanka, for giving the middle finger during the halftime show of Super Bowl XLVI.
